Overview

Amazon's APAC Retail Business Intelligence team is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to support retail functions across the Asia-Pacific region. This role plays a crucial part in helping Amazon make data-driven decisions in areas such as pricing, inventory management, marketing, and vendor partnerships. The engineer will analyze massive data sets, create scalable pipelines, and build visualizations and ML models to support strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including Pricing, Vendor Management, and Marketing teams, to deliver actionable business insights.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data exploration.
• Design and build data pipelines and dashboards using tools such as AWS Quicksight and Tableau.
• Develop and implement Machine Learning models to predict key business outcomes.
• Deliver routine and ad-hoc reporting, data analysis, and performance measurement.
• Partner with global BI experts to adopt best practices and ensure scalable BI solutions.
• Support strategic projects aimed at improving Amazon’s analytics infrastructure and customer experience.
• Apply statistical methods (e.g., t-tests, Chi-squared analysis) to derive data-backed conclusions.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience working with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL or similar databases
• Strong experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Quicksight, or Power BI
• Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (Python, Java, R)
• Knowledge of statistical methods including hypothesis testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or advanced technical degree
• Experience in data modeling and data pipeline design
• Strong foundation in statistical analysis and ability to interpret relationships in complex datasets
